A new grand baby! And other summer happenings
The Lord has blessed us with a wonderful summer. I’m thankful for many opportunities for spiritual renewal, ministry service, family time, and rest!
Perhaps the most exciting news of the summer came on August 1st with the birth of our newest grandchild, McKenna Grace! McKenna is the sweetest little bundle of joy, and all of us, including her parents (Jon and Kristine) and big sister, Delanie, couldn’t be more excited for this new addition to their family.
Kristine went into labor as I was returning from a meal out of town with my husband and other family members. I still thought, though, that I would have plenty of time to get back before the birth. I was wrong! Kristine had a very fast labor, and I walked into the room the minute after McKenna was born!
I’m thankful for all of our grandchildren (6 now!). They are such a joy. This summer, we are able to spend special time with each one. I pray that they will all continue to grow in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

little Chandler recovering in the hospital after breathing difficulties (thank you for praying for him!)
I trust you enjoyed extra time with the Lord and family this summer, as well. May we all enter this new school year and the fall season (my FAVORITE season) with a renewed focus and energy to serve Him and others!
Hi Terrie,
Congratulations on your new grand baby. My second grandchild has the same first and middle name only her’s is spelled Makynna. What a small world
So glad Chandler is doing better. I prayed for him when I found out.
You are ahead of us by one grandchild. As of Aug. 28th, we will officially have 5 though it our hearts it took place at the birth and placement of Ella Noelle a year ago this month in the home of our daughter Bethany and son-in-law James, as they adopt their second child. So excited for it to be “officially done.” They are planning to adopt more…so…the race is on…right??
Glad for the time you had with your family this summer. Praying for you as you enter another busy season.
Thank you for all the prayers you’ve sent my way. Love you friend,
Melanie
