This past Friday, we enjoyed our third HOME meeting of the year. This meeting is held every month for moms of children 0-5 years old with the purpose of encouraging, training, and equipping the young moms of our valley.

The ladies who attend have been placed in groups with Titus 2 Leaders. The Titus 2 Leaders provide more personal encouragement and are available to offer practical advice and prayer support.

The two hour meeting begins with light refreshments and fellowship, typically followed by an ice breaker that encourages the sharing of ideas and practical tips. Each week, we have enjoyed practical mini sessions from guest speakers. So far, we’ve covered the following topics:

• Practical Medical Advice for the Home
• Preparing Your Child for Salvation & Kindergarten
• Preparing a Valentine’s Day Meal on a Budget

The ladies have also benefited from the mini sessions provided by other moms. They’ve shared ideas for encouraging reading in children (with lots of great book suggestions), tips for spring cleaning, and helpful kitchen shortcuts.

Our time together goes by quickly, but the heart of the meeting is the helpful lesson from God’s Word. For the past few months, we’ve been studying the topic of balance. Our next topic will deal specifically with service: how to be actively involved in serving the Lord while effectively managing a home and spending time with your family.
